Our Road Map

Our Steadfast Journey to Innovation

Tank Newco B.V. strategically positions its terminals in key locations that maximize operational efficiency, connectivity, and accessibility to major transportation and energy hubs. Our terminals are situated close to important ports, pipelines, and industrial centers, enabling seamless integration with supply chains and facilitating rapid distribution of oil, fuels, and other energy products.

  • 2015–2016

Continued operations at Humber Refinery, processing approximately 221,000 bbl/d under Phillips 66 ownership since May 2012

  • 2016–2018

No major new terminal upgrades documented specifically, but local Immingham rail and road facilities continued freight operations, supporting refinery throughput via pipeline, rail, road, and maritime routes

  • 2019–2020

Humber International Terminal (HIT)—part of the port infrastructure near the oil terminal—continued to host significant dry bulk and energy-related activity. In 2020, plans approved for the Immingham Green Energy Terminal, a new liquid bulk and green hydrogen infrastructure on the port’s eastern side, potentially interacting with Immingham Oil Terminal operators (HOTT/APT)

  • 2021–2022

Ongoing engagement of oil terminal operators (HOTT/APT) in strategic planning for the Green Energy Terminal under development proposals for decarbonisation of port operations

  • 2023–2024

Multiple consultation rounds between operators and developers regarding navigation, safety and access relating to the Immingham Green Energy Terminal, with engagements documented from late 2022 into mid‑2024 infrastructure.

  • 2025

Immingham Green Energy Terminal plan reaches examination stage and continues consultation. The development includes coordination with HOTT/APT and Associated British Ports. Upgrades to regional CO₂/hydrogen infrastructure remain in planning, but key terminal-related infrastructure (road, rail, pipeline) continues to serve Humber Oil Terminal operations reliably.
